Presentation.

We presented our branding, poster, and website to the Ymedia judges today. It went reasonably smoothly. We were all very pleased with how it went. Congratulations to our team for persevering and coming up with a great end result.

Yay!

Click to view website At last we’ll let you see the WHOLE final website. Enjoy!

After our presentation we had a well deserved celebratory drink.

Our Last Video Blog!

Last Day.

Today is the last day for the Ymedia challenge, over the weekend we made the last few tweaks which Tracks requested. Today we will be uploading the final version, packaging and sending down all the files, with notes and instructions written into the HTML so it can be easily picked up and converted to Ruby on Rails.

We hope Tracks will be very happy with the website and be granted funding to expand their organisation.

Now that is the last day and our website is complete, we can give you a better look at the home page, but you still aren’t allowed to see everything cause we still want to surprise the judges.

As you can see we’ve created a modern and dynamic website/branding that will appeal on a national scale, which is exactly what Tracks needs to expand. We’ve added some objects that you would typically take to any outdoor camp, which makes it a little more interesting. We’ve decided to use wood as the background as we thought it fitted Tracks image, natural, trees, wood for campfires (the fire element plays quite a big role explained in more detail on logo post).

Presentations tomorrow!

Last few tweaks.

Had a meeting with Vincent today, only a few minor changes. We’ll be sending all the files down to their Ruby on Rails developer in the next few days.

We also bought some stuff for our presentation!

Tuesday, August 3

Today we have uploaded the final of the website and sent it off to Tracks.  We’ve done the best to our abilities! especially considering the amount of time we had available (3 weeks for a total re-work of everything we had done to that date).

We are currently jotting down points for our presentation and sorting out some of the paper work required for next Monday.

Off to get some bits and pieces for our presentation soon!

New Copy Updated.

We’ve finally got the OK to update the copy to our final draft. Almost ready to upload!

This is the second time we’ve updated the copy. The whole team is on it today each doing as many pages as we can, to get it done as time efficiently as possible (we don’t want to get behind on our Flash Summatives!)

All that’s left to do, after today, is select some imagery to implement throughout the pages.

Tomorrow onwards we will be writing up and preparing our Presentation for next Tuesday afternoon!

Sunday, August 1

Sneak peek of the website!

Thought we’d you give a bit of sneak peek of our final website, without giving too much away! We don’t want to ruin the surprise.

Here you can get a bit of a grasp of the look and feel of the website, our type treatments and colour scheme.

The Last week.

As the end of the Challenge draws nearer, we’re almost finished with the website! All that’s left to do is upload the final copy, and some minor tweaks. We are all very pleased with the overall look and feel of the website.

A promotional Poster for a new programme “Good Men make Tracks” has been designed and completed, ready for Tracks which will be required in mid August.

This week we will be primarily organising and getting our presentation ready for next Tuesday.

New Logo. New Style.

Yesterday Russell, Daniel and Tamara all met at Sparks interactive (our mentor Zeb’s work), a nice change of scenery. Zeb really went past the call of duty and gave up his Saturday to help us get the ball rolling. We’re all very grateful for this.

We were able to do a whole re-design/re-branding of everything! We now have a more exciting and dynamic looking website. A new logo, which feels more modern with a lot of Tracks symbolism tied into it.

Over the next few days, Russell will be coding up the home page, Daniel will be doing some design tweaks, and Tamara will be coding up the sprite navigation bar.

All in all, we’re all very pleased with the outcome.
